How to Ask for Direct Communication While Dating

Clarity can be warm, flirtatious, and specific.

Say what “direct” means in behavior: naming interest, asking a question, saying no, or proposing a time. Try: **“If you want another date, please ask directly. I will do the same.”**

Directness is not permission for cruelty. The useful standard is clear content with respect. Ask how the other person prefers uncertainty to be communicated—“not sure yet” is often far kinder than strategic ambiguity.

When a misunderstanding happens, ask for the literal meaning before assigning motive.
